HBO-THRONE-NEM / HBO's „Game of Thrones” Iron Throne On Display at NEM 2014



Dubrovnik, Croatia (MEDIA EXPRES) / June 10, 2014 / The second edition of the New Europe Market begins Tuesday 10, June, in Dubrovnik, Croatia, casting a spectacular revealing of the Iron Throne from the series „Game of Thrones“. After the thematic panels of the first day of the conference, NEM 2014 in cooperation with HBO Adria, will bring the legendary Iron Throne for first time to its original home, King’s Landing. The Iron Thorne is 220 cm high and 165×185 cm wide, and weighs 135kg.

NEM 2014 is the second edition of the largest gathering of media professionals in the West Balkans region, held from June 10th to 13th at the Radisson BLU Resort & Spa in Dubrovnik, Croatia.

NEM is a media event dedicated to the largest concentration of regional platforms providers and operators, aimed to dialogue and networking. The goals of the New Europe Market are to highlight the potential in the Central Eastern European (CEE) region and bring together media professionals in order to accurately gauge and anticipate the future of television.

Bruce Tuchman, President AMC/Sundance Channel Global, is expected to provide this year’s Keynote Presentation on the second day of the market. The first day debut of the panels session was postponed around 10:15 AM by an electricity blackout that affected the Panels Room. The panels begin around 13:00 relocated in the main area of entrance to the NEM Exhibition room, in front of the registration desk. Among the speakers of the first panel: John Rossiter, General Manager Central Europe, Sony Pictures Television Networks, Jay Tallon, Senior Vice President High Growth Markets, CEMA, BBC Worldwide și Bartos Witak, Vice President and General Manager, CEE & Israel, Viacom International Media Networks. The session was presented by Aaron Heslehurst, BBC Business News Presenter.

Additionally, internationally content creators were expected to explain to NEM participants the key to a successful TV show as well as provide individual workshops, which will give regional talent the chance to personally develop their ideas to become the next international TV hit.

Romanian media professionals are attending the NEM altough representing regional companies such as Turner (Cristina Valasutean, Distribution Manager for Cartoon Network, Boomerang, CNN, TCM etc). or FreemantleMedia (Daniela Matei, CEO Nordic, Central and Eastern Europe and Balkans).
