BBC-NEW CHANNELS / BBC Prepares To Launch BBC First, BBC Brit and BBC Earth



Dubrovnik, Croatia (MEDIA EXPRES) / June 10, 2014 / Jay Tallon, Senior VP High Growth Markets, CEMEA, BBC Worldwide, expressed intention to promote BBC First, BBC Brit, and BBC Earth on the important markets of the Central and Eastern Europe including Romania, according a statement during the first day of New Europe Market 2014, ongoing from 10 to 13 June 2014 in Dubrovnik, Croatia.

Jay Tallon (Photo, in the middle), Senior Vice President High Growth Markets, CEMEA, BBC Worldwide stated for Media Expres: „We haven't launch dates at this stage, we announced we will launching globally three brands which is: BBC First, BBC Brit, and BBC Earth. (Rep.: It will happen this year?) We haven't confirmed dates yet. We will, but we will keep this as a surprise”.

BBC is currently broadcast in the region Serbian and Romanian language localized versions of the international feeds of BBC Knowledge and BBC Entertainment, in some of the countries of the West Balkans region.

According international press reports, in October 2013, BBC announced that in 2014 they would roll out 3 new brands - BBC Earth, BBC First, and BBC Brit, with BBC Brit to be dedicated to male-skewed entertainment programming.

It was later announced that the content would largely be factual, featuring BBC series 'Top Gear' with the possibility for increases in local adaptions of the series. Other series are to include 'Room 101' and 'Mock the Week'.
